Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Sandy (Joyce nee Grandy) of Burin, George (Judy nee Grandy) of Grand Bank, Phonce ( Jean nee Mavin) of Dunville, William (Cathy nee Crowley) of Baddeck, NS and Gordon (Lorraine David) of Kirkland, QC daughters Emily Crowley (Rex) of Grand Bank and Lydia Cornish (Tony) of Grand Bank 17 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren sister Georgina Billard (Mike) plus a large circle of other family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Kingsway Assisted Living Manor in Grand Bank for their support during Joyce’s later years as a resident. Joyce loved to help others and supported many residents of the Blue Crest Cottages where she lived for more than 20 years. Most will remember her as a very competitive person who hated to lose at cards. Joyce spent most of her life in Grand Bank where she enjoyed card games, bingo and socializing with a large circle of friends and family. She also worked as a cleaner at the Fort Pepperrell Air Force Base in St John’s NL where she received a Commendation for exemplary work from the base commander. At the age of 50 With all her children grown, she decided to complete a basic carpentry course so she could work outside the home. On April 3,1945 she married her life-long partner William Cooper and in 1957 resettled to Grand Bank where they raised 7 children of their own. It is with great sadness the family of Joyce Cooper of Grand Bank announce her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on at the age of 93 years.īorn Son Brunette Island, Fortune Bay, to Phillip and Clara Price, Joyce was one of 8 children. She had cherished friends from coast to coast that she kept in contact with on a regular basis. She was blessed with many loving and wonderful nephews and nieces across the country. She was predeceased by sister Ethel and her parents Wallace and Mary Clarke. Also survived by her siblings, William Clarke, Naomi Meadus, Elizabeth Harnum and Emmie (Art) Miller, her sisters-in-law, Ann King, Maude Welsh, Ethel (Jim) Brown. She leaves behind her adoring husband of 65 years, Frank Dolimount, her children, Gail (Gord) Cole, Smithers, BC, her son, John (Debbie) Dolimount, Woodstock, NB, four grandchildren, Sheri (Matt) Maillot, Kristi (Leland) Hovland, Kaitlyn (Phil) Sisk and Kiah Dolimount, five great grandsons, Joey, Tommy, Theo and Jacob Maillot, Lincoln Sisk and one great granddaughter, Sarah Maillot.
